Creating Your Own Wine Room

Wine is produced and enjoyed in hundreds of countries all over the world. With its every increasing popularity, there has been a huge boom in the market for wine accessories and all sorts of gizmos and gadgets that aid the drinking of the stuff. As personal wine collections grow, many people decide to store them in specialised wine rooms that they often build themselves. It probably seems like a bigger job than it really is, and if you take note of these tips the process will be painless

1.) Keep it cool. Your wines should not really be stored outside of the 10° C to 16° C range. It is not the end of the world going lower than this suggested range but if you store above 26° C for any great length of time you will pretty much ruin the wine. You can always purchase a wine cooler to regulate the temperature for you but it shouldn’t be too much effort without one, just a little attention. Additionally you will need to keep the moisture levels down so a dehumidifier is be another worthwhile purchase.

2.) Glassware and tableware. You would be amazed just how many people have their own wine rooms and yet keep all their glassware and other needed items in the kitchen. Having some glasses and a bottle opener etc in the room will save you lots of time you would have spent running back and forth to the kitchen.

3.) Organise. One of the biggest mistakes people make when creating a wine room is failing to organize it. Try to get in the habit of placing each bottle in the right section when you get a new one and it’s advisable organise by type and then by production date. You might want to invest in a nice wooden wine cabinet as well to display your wines in all their glory
